Taj Mahal pond, garden decking and water features - Inverness
The owners of this Inverness garden asked us to design a garden in which to seriously relax after a busy day!

Starting with very long grass and very long weeds, we began to transform their garden into their sanctuary. Appreciating the tranquillity of water, we designed and constructed an 18-metre long, 1-metre deep pond, strongly influenced by the pond at the Taj Mahal in India.
It was deliberately positioned to provide a beautiful image from the sun room in the house. We also built a large curved, timber deck into which we created circular holes to plant a line of Birch trees. A series of spotlights were installed to illuminate each tree creating an outdoor space functional by day and night.
The deck was surrounded by two wildlife ponds which were connected by a gurgling stream. These two ponds were built to be as natural-looking as possible where they comfortably joined the illuminated deck, providing a mix of contemporary and traditional styles.
